Rhee Taekwondo is a traditional, non-competitive martial art aimed at self defence training. Victoria’s Master Chong Hyup Rhee is one of the 12 original “Masters of Tae Kwon Do” sent by the Korean Tae Kwon Do Association in the 1960s to take the martial art to the rest of the world. His brother, Master Chong Chul Rhee, is known as the Father of Australian Taekwondo for introducing the art to the country.

Melbourne University branch
Established in 1971, Melbourne University Rhee Taekwondo is one of Australia’s oldest taekwondo schools. Our branch is a recognised sporting club of Melbourne University Sports and is fully student-run.
Apart from training, we regularly hold social events such as picnics, dinners, movie nights, ice skating, laser tag etc.
